EARLING -- Lois Marie Koesters, 100, Earling, died Tuesday, Oct. 1 in Earling.    Services were held Thursday, Oct. 3 at 7 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Earling with burial in the St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery in Earling.    Friends were asked to call Thursday from 4-8 p.m. with family greeting friends from 5-7 p.m.

    EARLING -- Regina A. Koesters, 92, formerly of Earling, died Sunday, Sept. 30 at Mercy Hospital in Council Bluffs.    She is survived by her children Dick (Deb) Koesters, Judi (Jeff) Blum, Jay Koesters and Scot (Jolie) Koesters; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.    Services are pending at Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Harlan.

    HANCOCK -- Collette Renee Guyer, 60, Hancock, died September 27 at Avoca Specialty Care.    Services will be held Wednesday, Oct. 2 at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Avoca.  Family will greet friends Tuesday, Oct. 1 from 4-7 p.m.

    HARLAN -- Alice Young, 88, Harlan, died September 23 at Elm Crest Retirement Community.    Services will be held Monday, Sept. 30 at Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Harlan with burial in the Harlan Cemetery.  Visitation is Monday from 9:30-10:30 a.m.

    WESTPHALIA -- William Holzer, 83, Westphalia, died September 23 at Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital.    Services will be held Monday, Sept. 30 at 11 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Westphalia with burial in the St. Boniface Cemetery at Westphalia.  A rosary will be held Sunday, Sept. 29 at 7 p.m. at Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Harlan.  Visitation is Sunday from 3-8 p.m. with family greeting friends at 7 p.m.

    ELK HORN -- Ruth Thompson, 94, Elk Horn, died August 25 at the Salem Lutheran Home.    A memorial service will be held Friday, Sept. 27 at 11 a.m. at Altamont Baptist Church in Harlan with private graveside services at Cuppy’s Grove Cemetery in Harlan.  Visitation is Friday from 10-11 a.m.

    HARLAN -- Unis Fae Schumacher, 94, Harlan, died September 21 at Elm Crest Retirement Community.    Services will be held Saturday, Sept. 28 at 10 a.m. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Harlan with burial in the Harlan Cemetery.  A wake service will be held Friday, Sept. 27 at 7 p.m. at Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Harlan.  Visitation is Friday from 2-8 p.m. with family greeting friends from 5-8 p.m.

    HARLAN -- Verlee Shupe, 100, Harlan, died September 18 at Elm Crest Assisted Living.    Services will be held Wednesday, Sept. 25 at 11 a.m. at Grace Baptist Church in Harlan with burial in the Merrill’s Grove Cemetery in Fiscus.  Visitation is Tuesday, Sept. 24 from 2-8 p.m. with family greeting friends from 5-7 p.m.

    ATLANTIC -- Marvin Lynn McCool, 92, Atlantic, died Tuesday, Sept. 17 in Omaha, NE.    Services will be held Saturday, Sept. 21 at 3 p.m. at Burmeister-Johannsen Funeral Home in Shelby with burial of ashes at a later date in the Layton Township Cemetery in Walnut.  Friends may call Saturday from 2-3 p.m.

    PORTSMOUTH -- Albert Peter “Pete” Stein, 70, Portsmouth, died Sunday, Sept. 15 in Omaha, NE.    Services will be held Friday, Sept. 20 at 7 p.m. at St. Mary Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church Fellowship Hall in Portsmouth with private burial of ashes in the Cass Township Cemetery in Portsmouth.  Visitation is Friday from 4-7 p.m.

    HARLAN -- Frances Bettcher, 81, Harlan, died September 12 at Myrtue Medical Center in Harlan.    Services were held Monday, Sept. 16 at 11 a.m. at Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Harlan with burial in the Harlan Cemetery.  Family greeted friends Monday from 9-11 a.m.

    LAKEWOOD, CO -- Delner D. Hamdorf, 87, Lakewood, CO, died September 9 at the Sierra Rehab and Care Community in Lakewood.    Funeral services are being provided by Advantage Funeral and Cremation Services of Lakewood.    Hamdorf is originally from Shelby County.    Hamdorf is survived by his wife, Beverly Hamdorf, of Morrison, CO; and grandson Michael Hamdorf of California. 

    HARLAN -- Dorothy Ann Carroll, 88, Harlan, died September 11 at Avoca Specialty Care.    Services were held Saturday, Sept. 14 at 1:30 p.m.

    KIRKMAN -- Albert James Carlson, 75, Kirkman, died September 6.    Services will be held Saturday, Sept. 14 at 10:30 a.m. at Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Harlan with burial in the Harlan Cemetery.  Visitation is Friday, Sept. 13 from 4-8 p.m. with family greeting friends from 5-7 p.m.

    IRWIN -- Arline Gans, 95, Irwin, died September 10 at Myrtue Medical Center in Harlan.    Services will be held Friday, Sept. 13 at 11 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Irwin with burial in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Irwin.  Visitation was held Thursday, Sept. 12 from 3-8 p.m. with family greeting friends from 5-7 p.m.
