 ELK HORN (Jan. 24) -- The Exira-Elk Horn-Kimballton girls won their 14th straight game and improved to 14-1 overall Friday night with a 68-23 home win over Woodbine. The Spartans entered Monday’s game at Boyer Valley with a first-place mark of 11-0 in the Rolling Valley Conference. Macy Emgarten led E-EHK with five three-pointers and 21 points against the Tigers while Ellie Schultes also hit double figures with 13 points.

 MANNING (Jan. 21) -- Colten Brandt’s well-contested three from the left corner fell short as time expired last Tuesday night, allowing the AHSTW boys to escape IKM-Manning with a come-from-behind 58-55 Western Iowa Conference victory. The Vikings (12-2, 10-1 WIC), who fell behind 17-4 after one quarter, gradually fought their way back and took their first lead on Kyle Sternberg’s steal and layup with 2:28 remaining.

 ELK HORN (Jan. 21) -- The Exira-Elk Horn-Kimballton girls basketball team extended its win streak to 13 games here Tuesday night with a 58-36 home win over Paton-Churdan.

Branning scores 31 as IKM-Manning girls roll

 MANNING (Jan. 16) -- Senior Lexi Branning scored a career-high 31 points in less than 17 minutes of action and junior Alexa Ahrenholtz tallied 21 points and 10 assists here Thursday night as the IKM-Manning girls raced past Riverside 96-29 to sweep the season series. The Wolves led 35-8 after one quarter and 59-19 at the half before outscoring the Bulldogs 25-5 in the third with a running clock.

Wolves top Riverside 62-32

 MANNING (Jan. 16) -- The IKM-Manning boys basketball team won its fourth straight game since the holiday break on Thursday night, easily defeating Riverside 62-32. The Wolves improved to 6-5 overall and 6-3 inside the Western Iowa Conference, good for fourth place in the standings. A dozen IKM-M players scored vs. the Bulldogs, led by Kyler Rasmussen with 10 points and Connor Keller with eight. Both hit a pair of three-pointers.
