HARLAN -- Homecoming week at Harlan Community has a number of activities, including the popular dress-up days for high school students.  Tuesday was twins/duo day.

    OAKHURST, TX -- Former long-time Harlan residents Ron and Jackie Nelson of Oakhurst, TX will mark their 50th wedding anniversary  on October 9.    They plan to have a small family gathering to celebrate on that day with their three daughters: Wendy (Mike) Steen, Rockwall, TX; Jill (David) Goetz, Spring, TX; and Kirsten  Nelson and special friend, Wahlon O’Neal, Seneca, MO.  The Nelsons have one granddaughter.

    HARLAN -- Myrtue Medical Center Board of Trustees has accepted the lowest submitted proposal of $118,857 from RL Craft Roofing (Denison) to re-roof the medical/surgical building portion of Myrtue Medical Center in Harlan.    Chuck Assman, facilities director at MMC, said the roof (11,400 square foot area) on the building, built in 1964, was overlaid with Durolast overlayment 18 years ago and has been patched in several places since that ti
