AHSTW Vikings current head football coach G.G. Harris has stepped down, effective immediately.
In a text message, Harris said, "In the best interest of the team and for everyone to move forward, I have made the decision to step down as head football coach. Sometimes it’s more than just wins and losses. Sometimes it’s more than just about football. At this moment, it’s one of those times.”

After taking care of business with a dominant 49-7 in their most recent Friday against the Perry Bluejays, the HCHS Cyclones football team faces a big test at home with the 5-1 Nevada Cubs coming to town.

The IKM-Manning Wolves volleyball faced an uphill battle Tuesday night against the #2 ranked 24-3 Riverside Bulldogs, losing three straight sets (25-16, 25-15, and 25-19).
“We played good, we kept with them, but we can’t get in our little slumps as much as we do,” said Sophomore Ella Langel. “We need to work on our confidence a lot more.”

SHELBY COUNTY – Four Shelby County residents have been nominated to serve 4-year terms on the Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Extension Council. Their names will appear on the Nov. 5, 2024, general election ballot. SHELBY COUNTY — It’s National 4-H Week, and Shelby County 4-H members join over six million young people across the country in celebrating.

Two Exira-EHK Spartan cross country runners, Junior Austin Rasmussen and Sophomore Michelle Wilson continue to set the tone for their teams, most recently at the Woodbine Invitational Monday afternoon.
Rasmussen took third place with a time of 18:18.00, finishing less than a minute behind the overall winner, Gunner Wagner of Woodbine, whose time was 17:39.15.

Senior Cyclone Lukas Francis had a big night for his team coming away with 179 rushing yards and scoring five touchdowns in a must win 49-7 victory for the HCHS Cyclones over the Perry Bluejays improving their record to 3-3 on the season.

For the first time since Sept. 9, the HCHS volleyball team is back in the win column snapping a 9-game losing streak beating the Atlantic Trojans Thursday night in three straight sets, after dropping set one.
