FORT DODGE -- For the second straight year, the Harlan Community boys and girls cross country teams both qualified for the State Cross Country Meet in Fort Dodge. The Cyclone boys, making their third consecutive state appearance as a team, placed 13th out of 15 qualifiers in Class 3-A. The Cyclone girls, who qualified for the 11th time in 12 years, finished 15th.

 ALTA -- IKM-Manning faced the complete package in last Friday’s Class 2-A regional semifinal volleyball match at Alta. Second-ranked Unity Christian (35-4) featured three six-footers at the net - including a 6-1 setter - along with talented back row players and quality, aggressive servers. The Wolves entered the night on a nice roll, but the Knights were simply on another level overall, ending IKM-Manning’s season in three quick sets, 25-13,

 AVOCA -- Shut out for the second time in its last four games, AHSTW was ousted by Ridge View, 28-0, in a Class 1-A first-round playoff game last Wednesday night. The Vikings finished 6-4 overall, while Ridge View improved to 8-2. The Raptors lost to South Central Calhoun in the second round Monday night, 35-17.
